In July the UK’s four higher education funding bodies published the draft guidance and criteria documents for REF2021; they are now undertaking a period of consultation before the final arrangements for the exercise are confirmed in early 2019. To assist with the formulation of views from our subject community, NAMHE is coordinating an online webinar with three UoA33 Subpanel members. The webinar will begin with presentation introducing the main changes since REF2014, considering issues relating to interdisciplinary research, practice research, and impact, and highlighting consultation questions of particular importance. There will then be an open Q+A session, covering anything relating to REF2021 or the consultation process.

We are using the Adobe Connect platform for this webinar, which allows presenters to share slide materials, and enables all participants to contribute questions at any stage via the messaging function. To participate, you should simply point your browser to the URL given above. You are welcome to join the webinar at any point while it’s taking place, although in order to avoid any technical hiccups you may find it useful to connect 5-10 minutes in advance of the start time. Unless numbers are very small we do not intend to use video chat, so no webcam or microphone is necessary. You will need speakers or headphones, in order to hear the presentations and the answers to messaged questions. Once you click on the link, the Adobe software will tell you if you need any other software (like Flash).

The entire webinar will also be recorded and deposited on the NAMHE website as a resource for later consultation.

Questions about the webinar should be directed to Robert Adlington at
